Did You Leave a 3-Star Review While On a Street Team?
That is just not cool!
I am a member of a self-publishing school and Facebook group that teaches first time authors how to self-publish their book. Over the years of being in this group I’ve had private messages by distraught new authors about what they should do when someone on their Street Team gives a 1, 2, or 3-star review.
First, it breaks my heart when I get these messages. We all work so hard with our books and when one of our Street Team members doesn’t leave a 4 or 5-star review…well, that hurts.
Here’s the thing
· Maybe you didn’t like the book or,
· You didn’t feel like you wanted to give the book a 4 or five star.
That’s all fine. But there is another solution—keep reading
1. If you can’t leave a 4 or 5-star review don’t leave a review at all…if you feel as if you must please wait until they are done launching.
2. Let the author know why you didn’t like the book in an email.
3. Try and find the good points in the book and focus on those to give a 4-star review (see below).
