I Wish I Could Live Like My Dog ~ A Poem
Ask “Why not?” instead of “What for?”
Try before wondering if I can.
Never quit before I begin.
Neither ask for permission
Nor give apologies,
But still sometimes have the dignity
To look ashamed when I’ve ruined something.
Splash in life’s mud puddles,
Relish a joy, run through an open door.
I Wish I Could Live Like My Dog.
Roll in what delights me —
Even if others think it’s stinky.
Chase what moves,
Live with indifference to the rules.
Love completely and express it often;
Live as if life is short and good.
Go to sleep when the time is right.
I Wish I Could Live Like My Dog!
