My Promise to My Cat

You will be with me always,
In my heart and in my mind.
If ever I hear a sad meow,
I’ll remember to be kind.
When there comes a time
To save another kitty’s life,
I will do so willingly,
With your spirit in mind.
For even though you are gone,
I will help you to live on
By sharing the love you gave me
And passing it on.
